Chief of Staff Gen. Baqeri:

Even Unwise Leaders Know Costs of Attacking Iran

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Enemies are unlikely to attack Iran, especially on the ground, the country’s military chief predicted on Saturday, saying even "unwise” leaders in the West know that any such conflict would have huge costs for them.
U.S. President Donald Trump, adopting an aggressive posture towards Iran after its test launch of a ballistic missile, said in February that "nothing is off the table” in dealing with Tehran, and the White House said it was putting Iran "on notice”.
"In the remote case of an aggression (by enemies), this won’t be on the ground because they would face brave warriors,” the news agency Tasnim quoted military Chief of Staff General Muhammad Baqeri as saying.
"Thank God, even the unwise who lead world arrogance (the West)... can conclude that attacking the Islamic Republic would entail heavy costs,” Baqeri said at an air defense exhibition.
"Even if they would control the start of an aggression, they would not have a say about its end and they won’t even be able to limit the war to Iran’s borders,” Baqeri added.
The United States imposed unilateral sanctions against Iran last month after claiming the ballistic missile tests violated a UN resolution, which endorsed a 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers to lift sanctions.
The resolution called upon Tehran not to undertake activities related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such technology. It stopped short of explicitly barring such activity.
Iran denies its missile development breaches the resolution, saying its missiles are not designed to carry nuclear weapons.
John Bolton, the former U.S. undersecretary that helped mastermind the disastrous war in Iraq, is once again in the news for releasing a plan on how to kill the Iran nuclear deal and instigate a civil war in Iran.
Bolton decided to take his advice to the media, saying the U.S. should secretly conspire with "allied” nations to fund terrorist organizations in an ethnic civil war inside Iran, then, control all of Iran’s territories through terrorist proxies and failed states, deny all Iranians visas, and ultimately make the Iranian government "pay for 9/11.”
The memo encourages U.S. backed ethno-sectarian bloodshed. Specifically, it proposes the backing of Balochi and Kurdish insurgents. Baloch terrorist and criminal networks have already claimed the lives of approximately 3,000 Iranian border guards and soldiers.
Bolton even suggests ending "all visas for Iranians, including so-called scholarly, student, sports, or other exchanges.” That means his plan is to start a sectarian civil war in Iran and then trap every single civilian in the war zone.
Moreover, he demands compensation for Iranian acts of terror, "including 9/11”. The notion that Iran orchestrated 9/11 is completely unfounded, only adding to the insult of Saudi Arabia being on the list of nations he intends to "conspire with against Iran.” After all, 15 out of 19 hijackers in the September 11th attacks were Saudi nationals.
It’s hard to understand the rationale behind Bolton’s thirst for war. After all, Iran is being compliant with the nuclear deal.
In his memo, Bolton justifies his actions by claiming that Iran is a "grave threat to Israel” and that "Iran’s refusal to allow inspections of military sites also provides important reasons for the Administration’s decision.”
He continues by speculating that Iran is working with North Korea on missiles and promises that the truth can be exposed by "providing new, declassified information on Iran’s unacceptable behavior.” So all in all, Bolton’s grounds for waging war on Iran are "classified” and the U.S. should just take his word for it.
Ultimately, Bolton is looking for excuses to wage  a war against Iran, and deliberately get thousands of civilians killed. When there is no presentable excuse, he formulates his own under the guise of "classified information.”
